Jessica Lange Returning For “American Horror Story: Apocalypse”

It seems that American Horror Story fans can get what they want!

The upcoming installment of the horror franchise will feature the return of Jessica Lange.

Lange will reprise her role from season one as Constance, the next door neighbor of the Harmon family and the mother of Tate (Evan Peters). She’s also Michael Langdon’s grandmother, son of Tate and Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton). Michael, who we got to see as a murderous baby in season one, has already been confirmed as a character this season, albeit older and probably capable of a lot more evil.

The news that Lange will return to the franchise’s highly anticipated Murder House/Coven crossover was announced by series star Sarah Paulson at the show’s panel for FX’s summer TCA press tour.

“Yes, she will be back as Constance in an episode that I’m going to direct,” Paulson revealed. EP Alexis Martin Woodall also revealed that “the story begins with the end of the world, and then our world begins. It starts in the real world, it’s very tangible,” she continued. “If [the apocalypse] is what launches it, what’s the fantasy world of what happens next?”

While plot details are kept under wraps Paulson did reveal that Cordelia is still the Supreme “for now. At the beginning of our story that is the title she still holds. I don’t know how long that’s going to last and enjoyment is not possible juncture of this story.”

American Horror Story: Apocalypse premieres September 12.
