Joe Goldberg has taken us on one wild, bloody ride since You first premiered, and he’s gearing up for the grand finale. Netflix dropped the first trailer for the fifth and final season of the hit psychological thriller series, which sees our favorite book-loving serial killer return to his old stomping ground.
Based on Caroline Kepnes’ book series, You centers on Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager with a twisted dark side. He’s a hopeless romantic with a penchant for stalking the women he claims to love, and his infatuation usually has deadly consequences.
The first trailer for Season 5 sees Joe returning to where it all started—Mooney’s bookstore in New York—and that’s not a coincidence according to the leading man Penn Badgley.
“Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant. And this season, I think somehow coming back to where it started allowed for it to just become grounded in the way that it needs to also have this kind of spectacular finish,” Badgley told Tudum.
In addition to Badgley, Season 5 will also star Charlotte Richie, Madeline Brewer, Anna Camp, Griffin Matthews, Natasha Behnam, Pete Ploszek, Tom Francis, Nava Mau, and Bianca Norwood. It will feature a total of 10 episodes, set to arrive on Netflix on April 24.
