John Krasinski Admits Having a Secret Role in “A Quiet Place”

John Krasinski recently won over both the critics and the audience with 2018’s horror A Quiet Place; a movie which he directed, wrote and also starred in. And, while we thought Krasinksi’s involvement in the project ended there, it turns out that he had two on-screen roles in this film.

Krasinski recently made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and shared some unknown details about the film, including the fact that he played both the lead character Lee Abbott and the monsters his character was trying to escape from.

“Nobody knows it because I’ve kept it quiet,” said the 38-year-old actor turned director.

While the movie was in production, Krasinski was working closely with the visual effects team in order to get the look and the movements of the monsters right. At one point, he decided to demonstrate the way these monsters would behave.

“The amazing people at [Industrial Light and Magic] asked, ‘So how does the creature move?’ and I said, ‘Well, this is how I think he’s gonna crawl,'” Krasinski shared. “And they said, ‘Well, why don’t you throw on the suit?’ And I was like, ‘Totally!'”

Besides revealing his secret cameo, Krasinski also talked about the challenges of directing his wife, Emily Blunt, who played one of the lead roles in the movie with him.

Since its release, A Quiet Place went on to become a huge box office hit, earning $334.5 million compared to $17 million budget while critics described it as “smart, wickedly frightening good time.” Encouraged by this success, Paramount studio began working on a sequel which is scheduled for release on May 15, 2020.
