Jon Hamm starred in several high-profile projects this year, and he’s gearing up for another one. The Mad Men star will reprise his voice role from the true-crime podcast American Hostage in Shawn Ryan’s upcoming live-action adaptation.

This series has been described as a “psychological thriller that tells the harrowing true story of Fred Heckman, a beloved Indianapolis radio reporter who is thrust into the middle of a life-or-death crisis when hostage-taker, Tony Kiritsis, demands to be interviewed on his popular radio news program.”

Hamm is no stranger to the source material since he already voiced Heckman in the original podcast. He’ll serve as one of the show’s executive producers alongside its writers Shawn Ryan and Eileen Myers. Carla Gugino, Dylan Baker, and Joe Perrino were also a part of the podcast’s voice cast, but it’s unclear if they’ll return for its TV adaptation.

Hamm most recently appeared in Apple TV’s hit drama The Morning Show alongside Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and he has several exciting projects on the way. He’ll soon star in the fifth season of Fargo alongside Juno Temple and Jennifer Jason Leigh, in addition to being attached to the musical remake of the beloved teen classic Mean Girls.
