Josh Hartnett made a shift to television with a starring role in Penny Dreadful, and he’s currently getting ready to join another equally dark show. He just landed one of the lead roles on the upcoming mystery series Paradise Lost.
This show was created by Rodes Fishburne and it’s been described as a southern gothic mystery about a psychiatrist who moves to her husband’s hometown in Mississippi only to uncover shameful secrets that irrevocably change the lives of everyone involved.
In addition to Hartnett, Paradise Lost will also star Bridget Regan (Jane the Virgin), Barbara Hershey (Once Upon a Time), Nick Nolte (Gracepoint), Gail Bean (Snowfall), Danielle Deadwyler (Gifted) and Shane McRae (Sneaky Pete).
Paramount Network developed this show in collaboration with Spectrum Originals, and their president of development and production Keith Cox promised “a complex, compelling series full of incredible characters”. The pilot episode will be directed by John Lee Hancock, who previously helmed hit movies The Blind Side and Saving Mr. Banks.
