Kanye West to Host “Sunday Service” at Coachella

Kanye West may not be headlining this year’s Coachella, but he’ll be performing at the music and arts festival nevertheless. After months of speculations about his involvement, it’s finally been confirmed that the famous rapper will deliver a special “Sunday Service” performance.

The rapper’s special set is slated for Easter Sunday, April 21 – but won’t exactly be your regular Kanye West concert. This session is a part of a regular meeting he has with a gospel choir on Sundays, and it will feature gospel versions of his hit songs.

Coachella shared a clip of the rapper announcing the news, with worshipers attending one of his “Sunday Service” sessions.

“We were out in Palm Springs and they took us to a little campground, because we were thinking about a little performance in Palm Springs, just a little one. Then they had a mountain, he had a mountain waiting for us,” said West.

He was previously one of the performers who were supposed to headline the festival, but Coachella organizers had to let him go. It was reported they were unable to accommodate his needs – the famous rapper wanted them to build a custom dome for his performance.
