Kate Bosworth to Produce and Star in New Sci-Fi Thriller

Kate Bosworth has just landed her next major project.

The 35-year-old actress has been set to star in the sci-fi action feature, Genesis. Bosworth is also set to produce via her Make Pictures Productions alongside Jason Tamasco, Jerry Careccio, and Zak Kristofek’s Bad Idea shingle.

The thriller is about “a mother searching for her daughter in a post-apocalyptic world.”

The film will be Mike Le Han’s feature film directorial debut from a script penned by Brian Michael Scully. According to Deadline, the producers of Genesis are taking the title to the ongoing American Film Market in Santa Monica.

It looks like Bosworth and the sci-fi genre are a strong match with the actress set to star in Neil LaBute’s The I-Land, which was just ordered to series by Netflix. Bosworth also recently starred in the post-apocalyptic drama The Domestics and inThe Long Road Home.

You can see her next in the upcoming biopic Tate about as Sharon Tate, directed by her husband Michael Polish.
