Kate Winslet Lands Lead Role in HBO Series “Mare Of Easttown”

If you’ve ever wondered what it would look like if Kate Winslet got to solve a murder mystery, HBO is here to answer that question as they have cast her in their upcoming limited series Mare Of Easttown.

This intriguing project will tell the story of a small-town Pennsylvania detective, who has to solve a local murder while her own life crumbles around her.

It definitely sounds like something we’ve already seen a couple of times, but we’re pretty sure Kate Winslet wouldn’t say yes to this project if it didn’t offer a new take and captivating story.

Gavin O’Connor will be in charge of directing all the episodes, while Brad Ingelsby serves as showrunner. Winslet never collaborated with these filmmakers in the past, but she’s no stranger to working with HBO.

Winslet has played the titular role in critically acclaimed mini-series Mildred Pierce back in 2011, and went on to win several major awards – including a Golden Globe and an Emmy – for her powerful performance. Let’s hope she brings the same kind of passion to the role in Mare Of Easttown!
