Katherine Langford is Coming Back to Netflix

Katherine Langford is done playing Hannah Baker, but that doesn’t mean her professional relationship with Netflix is over. The rising star just landed the lead role in their upcoming series Cursed, based on the eponymous book by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler.

Langford rose to prominence thanks to the role in teen drama 13 Reasons Why, one of Netflix’s most talked-about shows to date. She decided to leave the series after two seasons because she felt that was enough to fully tell Hannah’s story. Katherine Langford is now ready for new adventures, and Cursed certainly seems like one.

The official Netflix synopsis describes Cursed as a re-imagination of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful and tragic Lady of the Lake.

Netflix also called it “a coming-of-age story whose themes are familiar to our own time: the obliteration of the natural world, religious terror, senseless war, and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible.”

Miller and Wheeler, who wrote the book, also created this series and they’ll serve as executive producers. Zetna Fuentes will executive produce, as well, and direct the first two episodes of the 10-episode series. Her credits include dozens of hit shows, such as How to Get Away with Murder, Jane the Virgin and Jessica Jones.
