Another horror movie sequel is coming your way.
Variety confirms that Katie Holmes will star in The Boy 2 a sequel to the 2016 original. The original starred Lauren Cohan and Rupert Evans. It was produced for under $15 million and grossed $68 million worldwide.
The feature from STXfilms and Lakeshore Entertainment is helmed by original director William Brent Bell from a script penned by Stacey Menear.
According to the outlet, the story will follow a family that is unaware of the terrifying history of the estate into which they move, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, a doll he calls Brahms.
Producer Gary Lucchesi said, “Following the success of The Boy, we are thrilled to be working on the next chapter of this chilling Brahms story with Stacey and William. We are also delighted to be continuing our relationship with STX, on this, our third partnership”
