Kelly Ripa To Announce on Monday Her New ‘Live!’ Co-Host

Kelly Ripa took to social media Sunday to tease the announcement of her new Live! Permanent co-host on Monday, ET reports.

In a short video shared with her followers over the weekend, Ripa is holding a mug that reads “LIVE Kelly?”

“Tune in tomorrow,” she says. “Trust Me.”

“We’re going to need a bigger mug,” she captioned the video, adding hashtags: “#TuneInToLive #BigAnnouncement #LiveKellyCohost.”

Ripa has been going solo on Live! since the shocking exit of Michael Strahan in May 2016. Since then, celebrities such as Michael Buble, Jerry O’Connell, Christian Slater, Andy Cohen, Jimmy Kimmel and even her husband Mark Consuelos have guest co-hosted Live with Kelly.

According to E! News, Strahan left his job as Live co-host for Good Morning America. He announced his departure in April 2016 and Ripa was caught by surprise and was “livid.” She later declined to appear on Live for four weekdays, after which ABC apologized.

The 46-year-old talk show host opened up regarding the co-host search on Andy’s Watch What Happens Live last December. “We really didn’t set a time frame for ourselves. We just wanted to wait until we found the right person.”

“What we didn’t anticipate was that we would have such an outpouring of interest, so our list got very long very quickly,” she added. “We’ve been trying to keep it as narrow as possible, but then people pop up.”
