Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Hire a Surrogate to Carry Their Third Child

According to ET, a source close to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West revealed that the couple have hired a surrogate to carry their third baby. Kim has been open about getting pregnant again, especially on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but due to health risks, she is unable to do so.

“It’s something that has been in the works for a bit now. There was always a very high risk if Kim became pregnant with a third baby, so it was never really an option. They are excited to finally add another child to their family,” a source said referring to the surrogacy issue.

Kim had difficult pregnancies with both of her kids, 4-year-old daughter North and 1-year-old son Saint.

“Last pregnancy, I had a condition called preeclampsia, which is a serious condition you can get during pregnancy,” she said about her experience giving birth to North in her November 2015 blog. “It causes your body and face to swell, and that was very uncomfortable for me. I had early-onset preeclampsia and I had to deliver at 34 weeks, almost six weeks early.”

“My placenta stayed attached inside my uterus, which is a condition called placenta accreta,” Kim added about further serious complications she suffered after the delivery. “This is a high-risk condition that happens when the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall. My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails. How disgusting and painful!!! My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that—it was the most painful experience of my life! They gave me a second epidural but we were racing against time, so I just had to deal.”

She again suffered from placenta accreta with the birth of Saint in December 2015.

In March, Kim expressed her desire to have another baby, although she had been prohibited to get pregnant by two doctors.

“I want my kids to have siblings, but the doctors don’t feel like it’s safe for me,” Kim said on KUWTK.

“Having more kids is definitely going to be a struggle,” she admitted in another episode. “I’ve gone through so much with really bad deliveries that the doctors don’t feel like it’s safe again for me to conceive myself.”

Last month in an episode of KUWTK, her mother, Kris Jenner, and older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, offered to be her surrogate.

Both Kim and Kanye have not yet commented on public regarding surrogacy news.
