Kingsman: The Golden Circle, a sequel to the 2015 action comedy Kingsman: The Secret Service earned around $39 million in North America which keeps it at the No. 1 at the box office.
The turnout is especially strong in Canada. However, the expectations were higher than this. The movie, with all its fancy gadgets and great action scenes, cost $104 million to produce. According to comScore, in the first three days the film earned a third of the invested amount.
The sequel received somewhat weaker reviews than the first movie, so it remains a question if the story will turn into a blockbuster franchise.
