Kirby Howell-Baptiste Joins “Cruella”

The star whose credits include Killing Eve, Why Women Kill and The Good Place is set to star opposite Emma Stone in Disney’s Cruella

The live-action feature on the infamous fur-loving villain will be helmed by the I, Tonya director Craig Gillespie from a script by Tony McNamara.

Very little is known of the prequel’s plot as the studio remains tight-lipped on details. The origin story for the 101 Dalmatians villain will star Stone as the titular villain in the 1970s London set “punk rock” vibe feature.

The casting news was first reported by Variety. Details on Howell-Baptiste’s character have yet to be revealed.

Paul Walter Hauser, and Joel Fry, also star in the film.

Cruella hits theaters Memorial Day weekend, May 28, 2021.
