Kristen Stewart is receiving rave reviews for her portrayal of Princess Diana in Spencer, and we finally know why. The first full trailer for this highly-anticipated royal drama sees her unleashing her inner Lady Di, and it’s as glorious as it gets.
According to the official logline, Spencer is “an imagining of what might have happened during those few fateful days” when Princess Diana spent Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate with the rest of the royal family and came to a realization that her marriage to Prince Charles is nearing its final stage.
The first full trailer sees Diana dealing with the mounting pressure of her royal role from all sides—the media, the royal family, and Prince Charles himself. The trailer features conformation between the royal couple, where he tries to explain there has to be two of them – the real one and one for the cameras and the rest of the world.
Spencer has been directed by Pablo Larraín, who previously worked on the Jackie Kennedy biopic Jackie, and it will hit the theaters on November 5th. In addition to Stewart, the film also stars Jack Farthing, Timothy Spall, Sean Harris, and Sally Hawkins.
