Looks like Kristen Wiig might be joining the Wonder Woman franchise.
EW confirms that the 44-year-old actress is in talks to be cast as villainess Cheetah, one of the movie’s major roles. In the superhero sequel, Cheetah is described as a feline adversary hold her own against Wonder Woman due to her strength and speed.
Returning to Wonder Woman 2 is director Patty Jenkins and titular heroine, Gal Gadot. The film will be set in the 1980s; the setting will be that of the Cold War.
Wiig is best known for being a Saturday Night Live alum, as well as her roles in films like Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters.
Should Wiig and Warner Bros. ink the deal, she is set to join one of the biggest critical and commercial hits of the DC Extended Universe film franchise.
The sequel is scheduled for November 1, 2019.
