Kumail Nanjiani is in talks to join Marvel’s The Eternals.
Should the Oscar nominated comedian join the project, it will be his first venture into the world of superheroes.
The feature is based on the 1976 comic book series created by Jack Kirby. The story follows the super-powered and near-immortal beings known as Eternals and a more monstrous offshoot known as the Deviants that were created by cosmic beings known as Celestials.
According to The Hollywood Repoter, Angelina Jolie is also on board and is set to play Sersi, an outgoing Eternal who is not afraid to move amongst humankind. Details about what character Nanjiani would play are being kept under wraps.
Chloe Zhao is directing from a script penned by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.
