Kutcher Surprises Ellen DeGeneres with Donation to Wildlife Fund

It’s a birthday that keeps on giving!

The That 70s Show alum made a surprise appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday. Kutcher teamed up with San Francisco-based firm Ripple to surprise the daytime talk show host, presenting her with a belated birthday present: a $4 million donation to the Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund.

The fund, established by DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi, works to save gorillas in Rwanda.

“So, we were meeting with these folks and they were talking to us about the ethics of this company and this platform and how they actually really care about being an ethical company and giving a portion of this platform away to people that are doing good in the world,” Kutcher told DeGeneres.

Before announcing his donation, Kutcher shared his appreciation of his friend’s generosity.

“We told Ripple, ‘There’s this amazing human being and all they ever do is think about other people they can give to. Whether it’s in New Orleans, whether it’s in Montecito, whether it’s the people that come here, the people out there, you’re always thinking about everyone else and we wanted to show you that people are thinking about you.”

DeGeneres got very emotional as Kutcher surprised her with his $4 million donation saying, “That was the most amazing thing. Thank you. I love you both so much, you know that.”
