Noah Baumbach’s exclusive deal with Netflix produced several pretty amazing films, and there’s more where that came from! The Oscar-nominated filmmaker is rounding out the cast of his next Netflix movie, which will now include Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, and Riley Keough.
Baumbach’s next film has been described as a funny and emotional coming-of-age film about adults, but plot details remain scarce at this point. Baumbach will direct the film, which he co-wrote with Emily Mortimer, and he’ll also produce it alongside Amy Pascal and David Heyman.
George Clooney and Adam Sandler have previously been announced as leads of Baumbach’s next film, and they’ll be in pretty good company. Laura Dern will reunite with the acclaimed director, after winning an Oscar for her supporting turn in Marriage Story, and she’ll be joined by The Morning Show’s Billy Crudup and Daisy Jones & the Six’s Riley Keough.
Baumbach and Netflix go way back, and his last three films as a director have been released by the streaming giant. Their collaboration kicked off with The Meyerowitz Stories in 2017, and he went on to direct Marriage Story and White Noise under the Netflix banner. He’s currently in the running for his third screenplay Oscar for co-writing Barbie with his wife Greta Gerwig.
