In today’s world, we rely heavily on the media to provide accurate information. But it is often hard to know who to trust and believe to be telling us the truth.
So, which news anchors do the people of America really trust? This poll from the Hollywood Reporter and Morning Consult asked viewers to rate their favorite TV anchors by how much they trust them—ranking from “A lot”, “Some”, “Not much”, “Not at all”, and “Don’t know / No opinion”.

Take a look at what the U.S. viewership really thinks of today’s news anchors—the results may surprise you.
Sean Hannity: 30% “Not at all”
First up on our list we have Fox News stalwart Sean Hannity, who unfortunately for us comes in at the bottom of the ranking of America’s least trusted news anchors.
When asked to choose between “A lot”, “Some”, “Not much”, “Not at all”, and “Don’t know / No opinion”, Sean Hannity received the highest percentage of “Not at all” votes, totaling a whopping 30% of no confidence across the board.

Fox News is the most watched network in all of U.S. cable, including both daytime and primetime. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the viewers put a lot of trust in it, however.
Rachel Maddow: 26% “Not at all”
Next up we have MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who doesn’t fare much better than her counterpart. Maddow is known as the ruler supreme when it comes to political news circles, thanks to her primetime news program The Rachel Maddow Show. The ratings aren’t as high as the Fox shows, but she still gets a lot of viewers.

However, with a lot of viewers comes a lot of criticism—which is why Maddow received a shocking 26% of votes for “not at all” when viewers were asked how much they trusted her.
Don Lemon: 25% “Not at all”
CNN stalwart Don Lemon has been a familiar face at the famous network since way back in 2006, but it took him about 10 years to rise to the true level of reporting superstar. These days, Lemon can be seen at the helm of his own show CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, and has amassed a large number of faithful viewers.

However, his high ratings don’t always translate into viewers’ trust—with 25% of voters stating that they trusted him “not at all” in the revealing poll.
Mika Brzezinski: 23% “Not at all”
Another MSNBC news superstar, Mika Brzezinski has made quite a name for herself as a super straight talking anchor. Presenting alongside cohost and husband Joe Scarborough, she sits at the helm of the super popular news show Morning Joe, clutching her coffee as she rips through scathing reports of today’s politicians.

And her outspoken nature certainly brings her a high number of ratings—and hatings. Because though the viewership is super high, she also received a huge 23% of votes saying that they trusted her “not at all”.
Chris Matthews: 22% “Not at all”
Another well-known and super popular face in the world of news reporting, Chris Matthews has been fronting the show Hardball with Chris Matthews since 1999. And he was pretty famous before that too, thanks to his work as host of CNBC’s America’s Talking.

But while he certainly got America talking, he didn’t exactly win the hearts of everyone in terms of reliability—with an amazing 22% of pollsters ranking him as someone they trust “not at all”. His recent misconduct allegations have only continued to harm his reputation within the industry, too.
Joe Scarborough: 22% “Not at all”
Next up on our list is Joe Scarborough, the other half of Mika Brzezinski, who we saw earlier. Not only are these two a true power couple when it comes to news reporting, they are both incredibly strong characters as they share their opinions over their early coffees on the hit MSNBC’s news show Morning Joe.

And while he fares slightly better than his wife in the opinion polls, the overwhelming result is still a “not at all” for Scarborough—taking a whopping 22% of the vote.
