Lena Dunham’s “American Horror Story: Cult” Character Revealed

Girls star Lena Dunham will be starring alongside Sarah Paulson, Cheyenne Jackson, Billie Lourd and Alison Pill on the upcoming season of the FX series, American Horror Story: Cult.

Showrunner Ryan Murphy confirmed on Friday that the 31-year-old actress will portray Valerie Solanas, a radical feminist known for authoring the SCUM Manifesto, who attempted to assassinate Andy Warhol in the late 1960’s. Evan Peter will play Warhol, as well as other various cult leaders, such as Charles Manson, David Koresh and Jim Jones.

Dunham will appear in episode seven, titled, “Valerie Solanas Died for Your Sins: Scumbag.”

“It’s about female rage and that’s in the country now. Solanas wrote the SCUM Manifesto. She told all women to kill men, and it was their only way to rise to power,” Murphy explained.
