The collaboration between Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese is a gift that keeps on giving and they already have their next project lined up. One of Hollywood’s most acclaimed power duos will reteam in the upcoming survival drama The Wager.

Just like their next film Killers of the Flower, this project is based on David Grann’s non-fiction book, titled The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder. The book is due out in April 2023 and Apple Original Films landed the rights for the film adaptation.

The action is set in the 1740s and it centers on a captain and his crew following a shipwreck on a desolate island off the coast of Brazil. In addition to struggling to survive one of the most extreme climates on the planet, they also had to battle their own human natures to make it out alive.

If everything goes according to plan, The Wager will mark the seventh collaboration between DiCaprio and Scorsese. They recently joined forces for the western crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon, set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next year. In addition to DiCaprio, its cast also includes Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, and Brendan Fraser.
