“Lethal Weapon” Renewed With A Casting Change

Fox’s Lethal Weapon has been renewed and will go on to a third season.

The TV series is an adaptation of the Lethal Weapon film franchise starring Danny Glover and Mel Gibson.

The news of the renewal also brings confirmation of a new leading man stepping in. American Pie star Seann William Scott will join the drama series, making this his first TV role.

The casting change follows Clayne Crawford’s exit from the series due to problematic on-set behavior.

“Seann is a fantastic addition to this already amazing cast,” Michael Thorn, Fox’s president, said in a statement. “Lethal Weapon is packed with action, drama and pure fun and we can’t wait to see Damon and Seann together on screen. Matt Miller, his incredible team and everyone at Warner Bros. have been tremendous partners, and we’re thrilled to bring this show back for another season.”

41-year-old Scott will play a new character in a partnership with Murtaugh played by Damon Wayans.

The series also stars Keesha Sharp, Kevin Rahm, Jordana Brewster, Johnathan Fernandez, Dante Brown, Chandler Kinney, and Michelle Mitchenor.
