Disney Drops Epic New Teaser For Live-Action Remake of “The Lion King”

Disney fans had a lot to celebrate this Thanksgiving since the studio gave them the best present they could ever wish for – the first teaser for the upcoming live-action re-imagining of animated classic The Lion King.

The short clip doesn’t reveal much, but it’s still giving us all the feels, since it’s the perfect homage to the original. It features several epic moments, including the legendary scene of Rafiki introducing baby Simba to the kingdom on Pride Rock.

Nostalgia will overtake you as soon as you hear James Earl Jones repeating his iconic quote “Everything the light touches is our kingdom. But a king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun.” and stay with you long after the teaser is over.

Jones is the only actor from the original version of The Lion King who’s part of the new cast. Donald Glover, Beyoncé, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and Chiwetel Ejiofor will be in charge of voicing some of our favorite character in this promising remake.

Hans Zimmer and Elton John will also return to their respective roles as composer and songwriter. Jon Favreau, who previously directed the live-action version of The Jungle Book, is in charge of bringing Simba’s story to life. The Lion King will hit the theaters just in time for the 25th anniversary of the original – July 19, 2019.
