Fox has given a presentation commitment to Lyle & Caroline featuring the Friends alumni.
The half-hour animated comedy is produced by Lisa Kudrow, who will also lend her voice to the production. Brothers Eric and Justin Stangel (Late Show With David Letterman) will pen the script and executive produce alongside Kudrow.
Lyle & Caroline is described as a family-driven comedy focusing on the friendship of its two titular characters, who form a surrogate grandparent/grandchild bond in an unexpected way. According to Deadline, Kudrow will provide the voiceover of Caroline, the high school-aged grandchild.
Fox is definitely pushing into animated content under president Michael Thorn. Lyle & Caroline is the network’s latest animated effort following Amy Poehler’s Duncanville and Bless This Mess from Emily Spivey, Phil Lord, and Chris Miller.
