Hulu’s Adaptation of “Looking for Alaska” Casts its Leads

Fans of celebrated young adult novelist John Green spent over a decade waiting for an adaptation of his first novel, and their prayers have finally been answered. Looking for Alaska is coming to Hulu and this highly anticipated series finally cast its leads.

Producers of the show found what they were looking for in relative newcomers Kristine Froseth and Charlie Plummer. John Green announced the amazing news in a series of tweets and asked fans to be kind to these young actors, who are both truly brilliant.

“I spoke to Kristine and Charlie on the phone yesterday and it was really special to have a conversation with the people who will become Miles and Alaska. I’m so grateful to them and to everyone involved with the Looking for Alaska series. It’s all starting to feel very real!” wrote Green.

Looking for Alaska is a touching story of loss and search for meaning told through the eyes of a teenage boy, Miles “Pudge” Halter. After enrolling to a new school, he falls in love with the beautiful and mysterious Alaska Young, whose sudden death wracks his world. His friends are there to help him uncover the truth behind this tragic event and make some sense of it.

Before being cast as Miles, Charlie Plummer starred in critically acclaimed dramas All the Money in the World and Lean on Pete. He won the award for best young actor at the Venice Film Festival for the later. His new co-star Kristine Froseth recently appeared in Netflix’s hit teen flick Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.
