The His Dark Materials star joins the cast of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings series.
Morfydd Clark has landed a lead role in the highly anticipated TV adaptation of the hit fantasy franchise.
Clark, who is set to play a young Galadriel, joins a cast that includes Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, and Maxim Baldry. The role was famously portrayed by Cate Blanchett in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films.
The Lord of the Rings series will explore new storylines preceding J.R.R. Tolkien’s. It is penned by writing duo JD Payne and Patrick McKay.
Amazon has already given the series a two-season order.
