Luke Mitchell will star opposite Stella Baker in the CW drama pilot The Republic of Sarah.
The series will be about Sarah Cooper (Baker) a rebellious high school teacher who takes advantage of a loophole to declare independence when a greedy mining company threatens to destroy her town. Sarah decides to start her own country with a group of young misfits.
Mitchell will play Sarah’s brother Danny, a lawyer that represents the mining company that wants to destroy the town, who must face his childhood trauma when he returns home.
Mitchell, an Australian native, has had many recognizable television roles since moving to Hollywood including The Tomorrow People, The Code, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Blindspot.
His next roles will be in the upcoming films Black Water: Abyss and Without Remorse opposite Michael B Jordan.
