Lupita Nyong’o Fights For Survival in First Trailer For “Us”

Jordan Peele gave us one of the best and most ground-breaking modern horrors with Get Out, and its follow-up looks equally terrifying. The first trailer for Us is here, and it offers a look at Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o like we’ve never seen her before.

Us tells the story of a seemingly ordinary family hoping for a peaceful holiday at their beach house. Their idyllic summer getaway turns into a total disaster once they’re forced to face four mysterious figures, who turn out to be doppelgängers of themselves.

Peele created his own mythology and creepy monsters known as “The Tethered” specifically for this movie. He always wanted to have a black family at the center but also tried to tackle new topics he hasn’t explored in his directorial debut.

“It’s also important to note, unlike Get Out, Us is not about race. It is instead about something that I feel has become an undeniable truth. And that is the simple fact that we are our own worst enemies,” explained Peele.

In addition to Lupita Nyong’o, this creepy home invasion film also stars her Black Panther co-star Winston Duke. It will hit the theaters on 15 March, 2019 and we can’t wait to see the big twist Peele’s got in store this time around.
