Christopher Nolan’s next film will be one star-studded affair, and another A-list star just joined its amazing cast. Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o is the latest actress to join this mystery project, which will star some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Zendaya and Anne Hathaway.
Not much is known about Nolan’s next project, a follow-up to his acclaimed historical epic Oppenheimer, which won seven Academy Awards this year. Universal Pictures will release it in theaters and on IMAX on July 17, 2026, and rumor has it that production will kick off in early 2025.
This project has been pretty star-studded even before Lupita Nyong’o hopped on board. Matt Damon, who starred in Nolan’s Oppenheimer, was the first actor attached to this film, and he was closely followed by the Spider-Man star Tom Holland. Emmy winner Zendaya and Oscar winner Anne Hathaway joined the cast just a few days ago.
Lupita Nyong’o got her big break with the supporting role in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave, which won her the Academy Award. She found mainstream popularity with her role in the Black Panther franchise and also led the films Queen of Katwe and Us. She starred in A Quiet Place: Day One earlier this year and voiced the titular character in the animated film The Wild Robot.
