Magician Shin Lim Crowned as Winner of America’s Got Talent’s Season 13

Season 13 of America’s Got Talent wrapped up on Wednesday, and this time, the magic prevailed. The close-up magician Shin Lim was crowned the winner, beating out the runners-up, dance troupe Zurcaroh, and electric violinist Brian King Joseph, who finished third, for a grand prize of $1 million.

The 26-year-old, who became the second magician to win America’s Got Talent after Mat Franco did so in season nine, will also headline America’s Got Talent stage at the Paris Theater, Las Vegas next month.

“I can’t stop smiling,” said Lim after being crowned the winner. “I don’t think I’ve ever smiled this much in my life.”

You can watch his amazing performance below.

Although he initially enrolled in college to become a pianist, Shin Lim had to start thinking about the change of career after he was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. Lim decided to try magic and started learning card-magic with the help of YouTube.

He later went on to tour the world with his acts, while winning several awards. Lim first gained international fame when he made two appearances on Penn & Teller: Fool Us, fooling American magician-comedian duo both times. If you are curious how that looked as well, check it out below.
