Maisie Williams says which month Game of Thrones returns in 2019

With Game of Thrones fans hungry for every piece of information regarding the next and final series of HBO’s fantasy series, looks like Maisie William is the one to listen out for.

While the return of GoT’s eight and final season is scheduled for 2019 has been confirmed, there was no information as to when in 2019 it will hit our screens.

But now, it looks like Williams slipped up as to which month the hit drama will debut.

“We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April,” Williams told the UK paper Metro. “That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes. There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities.”

This new piece of information makes a lot of sense but the problem is that it also doesn’t. If we disregard season 7 summer premiere, HBO premiered six of the show’s previous seven seasons in April or the last week in March. However, William’s remark that production wraps in December isn’t what we’ve heard so far, that filming is expected to wrap at the end of summer.

Williams did also reveal what her hopes are for her character Arya Stark, “I would love for Arya to find her true self again and let go of this anger and revenge that’s accompanied her on this journey. I’d love for her to be happy.”

HBO isn’t commenting – no surprise there.
