Marc Anthony Performs in Miami Two Days After The Death of His Mother

Just two days after sharing the news of his mother’s death, Marc Anthony performed at the halftime show during the International Champions Cup match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona on Saturday, according to ET.

The Grammy winner performed at the “El Clasico” match, held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. He played a four-song medley, featuring his singles “I Need to Know,” “Tu Amor Me Hace Bien,” “La Gozadera” and “Vivir Mi Vida,” rocking in a dark suit and black shades.

The 48-year-old singer was filled with emotions as he walked off the field after his performance in front of the huge, sold-out arena.

On Thursday, Anthony shared an emotional message to social media, paying tribute to his beloved mother, Guillermina Quiñones.

“Today at 12:10pm my family’s hero, our rock, our protector, inspiration and now ANGEL passed away,” the music icon wrote. “She left in peace, accompanied by all your prayers and well wishes for which we thank you all. Mami, I’m going to miss you so much!”

On Saturday, his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez took to Instagram to show her love and support for Anthony and gave a heartfelt message to his late mom.

“Just what the doctor ordered..Surrounded by love..Descansas en Paz Ginny..te vamos a extranar.”
