Margot Robbie confirms Harley Quinn spin-off in the works

Looks like Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is quickly becoming Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment chosen one.

The actress is developing a film for the character that debuted in Suicide Squad, that’s “totally separate” from projects such as Gotham City Sirens. It has been confirmed that Robbie is working on the spin-off projects for the character with director David Ayer. The Harley-centric movie will also be a separate project from the movie about Harley and Joker, or Suicide Squad 2.

“I’ve been working on it for two years now. I mean, it’s hard to kinda talk about it ‘cause all this stuff is kinda under lock and key, but yeah, no, I’ve been working on a separate spin-off for Harley, thing, for a while now.”

“There’s a lot going on right now,” Robbie continued. “Honestly, I don’t think anyone knows what’s going to be the next thing to happen, but I think everyone is keen to get Harley back onscreen so everyone is working on lots of different versions of what that could be.”

It has been reported that the person who helmed the idea of the movie is Robbie herself after her experience filming Suicide Squad. Robbie is also producing Gotham City Sirens and the Harley spin-off.

Next on the superhero DC release schedule is Aquaman starring Jason Momoa hitting theaters December 21.
