This isn’t the way Mariah Carey wanted to bring in the new year.
During last night’s “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”, the annual Times Square ball dropping event now hosted by Ryan Seacrest, Mariah started to have issues during a live performance.
The performance saw many technical difficulties occur, including microphone’s cutting out, and Carey even stopped singing during her hit song “Emotions”, ushering the crowd to finish her lyrics for her.
Carey was able to joke about the experience after the fact, taking to Twitter shortly after her performance with a tweet that read “Here’s to making more headlines in 2017!”
Let’s hope that this isn’t a sign of things to come this year for the singing sensation.
