It’s been over a year since Mariah Carey graced her fans with a new song, but it was definitely worth the wait. The living legend just added another gem to her long list of unforgettable tracks with a savage tune “GTFO”.
The video for this atmospheric slow-jam isn’t an action-packed crazy ride, but it’s everything you’d expect from Mariah Carey. She’s shown drifting through her house in entire wardrobe’s worth of racy lingerie outfits and sipping wine along the way.
GTFO gave us the first taste of Carey’s 15th album, which should come out later this year. It is her first studio album since she released Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse in 2014.
Her upcoming album will reportedly include collaborations with Drake and Daniel Caesar and the lead single “With You,” but the five-time Grammy winner felt “GTFO” is the perfect song to lead the way and decided to release it first. The album will come out on October 5.
“I wanted to give my fans and everyone a first listen that wasn’t so serious. I’ve had so much fun making this album and I wanted the first moment to reflect that lighthearted spirit,” explained Mariah Carey.
