Mariah Carey Releases New Christmas Song “The Star”

Mariah Carey has dropped a new Christmas song on Thursday!

The 47-year-old pop diva took to Twitter to announce her new festive track, writing “Surprise! My new Christmas song THE STAR is out now! #TheStarMovie.”

The four-minute song is taken from the animated Christmas film The Star. according to People, Other artists featured on the soundtrack include Fifth Harmony’s “Can You See,” A Great Big World’s “Life Is Good,” and an unreleased track from Kelsea Ballerini titled “Children Go Where I Send You.”

Last week, Carey revealed that her 6-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, are also featured on the song.

“Hanging with my two best friends, listening to their guest appearance on #TheStar😍💖,” the “Hero” singer captioned a sweet photo of the trio in bed.

The Grammy winner earned the name “Queen of Christmas” for her 1994 blockbuster hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” now a classic holiday standard and two Christmas albums including her notable songs such as “Silent Night” and “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town.”

The Star is about the story of a donkey named Bo, who goes on an adventure with other animals during the time of Christ’s birth. Celebrities who lent their voices to the movie include Oprah Winfrey, Kelly Clarkson, Keegan-Michael Key, Tracy Morgan and Gina Rodriguez. The film will be released in November 17, People reports.
