Mark-Paul Gosselaar is Open to a “Saved By the Bell” reboot

Mark-Paul Gosselaar is open to bringing that Zack Morris.

Gosselaar, whose Fox series, The Passage, was canceled earlier this month, was a recent guest on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast and talked about a possible Saved By the Bell reboot.

Gosselaar admitted that he’s not a big fan of reboots, but did not shut the door completely on bringing back his on-screen high school gang back together again

“I’m OK, I mean me personally, never seeing a reboot ever again. I like original content… I don’t need to see these reboots, me personally, I don’t know the desire to see any of these reboots.”

He added, however, that he could be convicted to reboot the sitcom if a great idea is brought to the table.

“Absolutely. If it was a good product that I felt wouldn’t tarnish the original product, then yeah. I’m open to hearing anything. I love what they’ve done with Cobra Kai. That type of reboot is what I would be interested in exploring.”

The original ran from 1989 to 1993 on NBC and followed a group of high school friends and their principal. It starred Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, Tiffani Amber Thiessen, and Elizabeth Berkley.
