Mark Wahlberg Joins Paramount Players’ “Arthur The King” Adaptation

Mark Wahlberg will headline the true-life canine adventure story Arthur the King.

The feature adaptation of Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home is based on the 2017 account by Swedish adventure racing team captain Mikael Lindnord. Lindnord (Wahlberg) who met a wounded stray dog during a 400-mile race through the Ecuadoran jungles, led the canine to follow the team through some of the toughest terrains on the planet. He later adopted the pup and brought it back to Sweden.

Adapting the story for the big screen is 3:10 to Yuma and Wanted scribe, Michael Brandt.

Wahlberg will also executive produce with Dorothy Canton, Brandt and Lindnord. Mark Canton, Tucker Tooley, Courtney Solomon, and Tessa Tooley will produce the project for Paramount Player.

No director has been announced.
