
The assassin thriller has found its lead.
According to Variety, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is set to star in Netflix’s Kate, a female assassin, who, after being poisoned and given less than 24 hours to live, goes on a manhunt through the streets of Tokyo to take vengeance on her murderer before she dies.
The movie will be directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan from a script penned by Umair Aleem.
Bryan Unkeless will produce the project alongside Kelly McCormick, and Patrick Newall. David Leitch (Deadpool 2) will serve as executive producer with Scott Morgan.
Winstead recently finished filming of the Harley Quinn spinoff Birds of Prey. Her other credits include 10 Cloverfield Lane, the most recent season of the FX series Fargo.
