Mary Tyler Moore Dies Aged 80

Mary Tyler Moore, known for her appearance on TV, died today aged 80. Her rep Mara Buxbaum informed the public about the sad news:

“Today, beloved icon, Mary Tyler Moore, passed away at the age of 80 in the company of friends and her loving husband of over 33 years, Dr. S. Robert Levine. A groundbreaking actress, producer, and passionate advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mary will be remembered as a fearless visionary who turned the world on with her smile.”

Moore was born in 1936 in New York and became popular for the ’60s sitcom The Dick Van Dyke Show. Throughout the years, she appeared in many roles and entered numerous American homes.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show, which ran from 1970 to 1977, was groundbreaking in many ways.
