ET reports that Matthew McConaughey will be named the 2018 Inspiration Honoree for his work with charitable foundation ‘just keep livin’ at the Third Annual City Gala on Sunday.
McConaughey started ‘just keep livin’ with his wife Camila in 2015; the foundation is “dedicated to empowering high school students by providing them with the tools to lead active lives and make healthy choices for a better future.”
A statement by City Summit founder Ryan Long reads that “the work that Matthew McConaughey has done through his own foundation, his tireless commitment to giving back to the community, and his successful film and TV career, make him an obvious choice to be this year’s Inspiration Honoree.”
Being that the City Gala’s vision is to “advance community through humanitarian activities and events” it seems like McConaughey’s actions make his more than worthy for the honor. The 48-year-old Oscar winner will also serve as the event’s guest speaker.
