Melissa Etheridge admitted she’s smoking weed with her children Bailey (20) and Beckett (18). She shared this info in order to reduce the stigma that exists around marijuana.
Melissa said:
“It was funny at first, and then they realized it is a very natural end of the day. It brings you closer.”
She also said that she’d much rather smoke with her children than have a drink with them.
Melissa started using cannabis after she has been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. Among all kinds of painkillers and steroids, she opted for a natural product recommended to her by David Crosby.
“When I first started using cannabis, I smoked to be normal. I smoked to be out of pain. It wasn’t about being high,” she shared. She made sure her kids (who were much younger then) realized the true purpose of her smoking and understood it was a medicine.
