“What Men Want” Gets New Release Date

Paramount is looking to capitalize on Valentine’s Day.

The studio has announced a new release date for the Taraji P. Henson rom-com. What Men Want has been pushed back from mid-January to a pre-Valentine’s weekend and will be released on February 8. This is reportedly a strategic move made by Paramount to capitalize on the pre-Valentine’s Day business at the box office.

What Men Want is the feminine remake of Nancy Meyers’  2000 comedy What Women Want starring Mel Gibson. Instead of a man hearing women’s thoughts, we now get a woman hearing men’s. Henson will play Ali Davis, a successful sports agent passed up for a well-deserved promotion. As she questions what she needs to do to succeed in a man’s world she suddenly gains an edge having the ability to hear men’s thoughts.

Also starring are Richard Roundtree, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Tracy Morgan, Josh Brener, Tamala Jones, Phoebe Robinson, Max Greenfield, Jason Jones, Brian Bosworth, Chris Witaske and Erykah Badu.

What Men Want hits theaters Feb. 8.
