Just when we thought there’s nothing in this world that could make us love Netflix even more, this streaming giant managed to outdo themselves once again. They hired Ryan Murphy to adapt hit musical The Prom with one of the most star-studded casts we’ve ever seen.
Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman and Ariana Grande will be in charge of playing lead roles in this highly-anticipated project. The cast also includes the likes of Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key and Andrew Rannells, and Murphy will probably serve as a director.
The Prom centers on an Indiana high-school senior, who isn’t allowed to bring her girlfriend to the prom, and a bunch of Broadway eccentrics who decide to descend on her small town and help her fight the injustice.
The Prom adaptation is a part of Murphy’s mega-deal with Netflix worth $300 million. The six-time Grammy-winning filmmaker is also working on the upcoming TV shows The Politicians, Ratched and Hollywood.
