Meryl Streep, Emma Stone and Saoirse Ronan in Talks to Star in “Little Women”

Now that’s what you call a star-studded cast!

The Little Women movie remake is getting a big Hollywood cast including Lady Bird’s Saroise Ronan, Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, along with Florence Pugh and Timothée Chamalet who are reportedly in talks to star in the movie.

Little Women, a coming-of-age story that takes place in Massachusetts during the Civil War, is loosely based on novelist Louisa May Alcott’s life. It follows four sisters as they deal with issues of family, love, and loss.

Helming the project is director Greta Gerwig, who just earned an Oscar nomination for Lady Bird. The project has been in gestation for a while at Columbia Pictures with Amy Pascal set to produce with Denise Di Novi and Robin Swicord.

The story has been adapted for the screen in the past with the most popular adaptation being the 1994 version starring Winona Ryder. A Little Women miniseries aired last year on BBC.
