Ti West’s X trilogy is a gift that keeps on giving, and he’s finally given us the taste of the highly-anticipated third film. The first trailer for MaXXXine is here, and it sees Mia Goth’s titular heroine shooting for the stars and trying to make a name for herself in Hollywood.
MaXXXine will reunite us with Maxine Minx, an aspiring adult film star we were introduced to in X. She’s on the verge of getting her big break in 1980s Hollywood before a mysterious serial killer threatens to reveal her sinister past.
As Hollywood starlets drop dead one by one, the stakes are higher than ever, and Maxine must overcome a threat she’s never faced before.
“It’s the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes and Maxine has gone through so much at this point. So when we find her in this new world, she’s just a force to be reckoned with and she goes through some pretty wild adventures,” Goth previously told Variety.
In addition to Goth in the lead role, the star-studded cast of MaXXXine also includes Kevin Bacon, Bobby Cannavale, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Lily Collins, Halsey, and Giancarlo Esposito. A24 will release it in theaters on July 5.
