Michael Douglas Gets a Star On the Hollywood Walk of Fame

After almost five decades in the entertainment industry, Michael Douglas has finally been bestowed with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. He received a coveted plaque surrounded by his nearest and dearest – including his father Kirk and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Michael Douglas got a little bit emotional during the ceremony because his 101-year-old dad was one of the people in attendance. The Fatal Attraction star tore up while addressing Kirk and told him how much it meant to him to see him on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that day.

Douglas’ former co-star and long-time friend Jane Fonda also showed up to support him and joked she doesn’t know why it took him so long to get a star. She reminded the world Michael had to work super-hard to get out of his father’s shadow and make a name for himself.

“Michael has not only carved out his identity as a great, great actor with tremendous range but as a great producer as well. He has rightfully been bestowed with all of the awards Hollywood has to offer… and now finally, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” said Fonda during the ceremony.

The two-time Oscar winner recently starred in the hit Marvel blockbuster Ant-Man and the Wasp, and he’ll soon make a TV comeback with The Kominsky Method.
