Michael Yo will star and co-write a family comedy inspires, well, by his very own life.
The autobiographical multi-generational family feature is currently in development at Fox.
The 43-year-old actor will pen the script alongside Nick Adams (Bojack Horseman). According to Deadline, the still untitled project centers on a young couple’s life that is made more complicated when the guy’s (Yo) over-achieving African American father and scheming Asian mother show up to help them take care of their newborn baby.
The plot is very similar to the recent changes in Yo’s life — after he became a father, his parents came to Los Angeles to help with the baby.
Adams and Yo also serve as executive producers.
