Michelle Obama Announces New Memoir

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is looking to inspire.

54-year-old Michelle took to social media Sunday to announce the news that she will be releasing a memoir, titled Becoming, during 2018.

Michelle wrote, “writing Becoming has been a deeply personal experience. It has allowed me, for the very first time, the space to honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory of my life. In this book, I talk about my roots and how a little girl from the South Side of Chicago found her voice and developed the strength to use it to empower others. I hope my journey inspires readers to find the courage to become whoever they aspire to be. I can’t wait to share my story.”

In a statement by her publisher Penguin Random House made to People, the memoir is described as “an unusually intimate reckoning from a woman of soul and substance who has steadily defied expectations — and whose story inspires us to do the same.”

This won’t be Michelle first book; in 2012 she published the book American Grown to promote healthy eating in America.

Just last year the 44th POTUS and his leading lady inked an agreement with Penguin Random House that according to some reports is believed to be worth more than $65 million.
